Who we are and what this covers
PRMR Marketing is a digital marketing agency based in Los Angeles, California. In this policy, “PRMR Marketing,” “we,” “us” and “our” mean us, and “you” means anyone who visits or uses our website.
This policy covers prmrmarketing.com and its pages, including our contact and free audit form and our free tools (together, the “site”). It explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.
It does not cover the work we do for clients. When a business hires us, the information we handle on its behalf is governed by that client’s separate agreement with us. It also does not cover other websites, including any site we link to.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use our contact or free audit form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your website address
- What you need help with, chosen from a list
If you email us, we also receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
Please do not include sensitive information in the form, such as health or patient details, financial account numbers or government ID numbers. We do not need it to reply, and the form is not designed to receive it.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, our site and its hosting provider receive standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page that referred you and the date and time of the request. This information is used to deliver pages, keep the site secure and stop abuse.
Information stored on your device
The site saves a few small preferences in your own browser so it remembers your choices, such as light or dark theme and the accent colour you picked. These stay on your device and are not sent to us. The full list is in the cookies and similar technologies section.
Our free tools
Our free tools run in your browser. Text, titles, URLs or numbers you type into them are processed on your device and are not sent to us or stored by us. If a tool ever needs to fetch a public web page or use an outside service to work, the tool will say so before you use it.
Analytics and advertising
We may use analytics and advertising tools, such as Google Analytics and Google Ads, to understand how people find and use the site and to measure our own marketing. When we use them, these tools may collect information such as pages viewed, time on page, the ad or link that brought you to the site, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser details, using cookies or similar technologies. These providers may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites. See your choices for how to opt out.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Reply to your message and prepare the free audit or proposal you asked for
- Follow up about your request, including a reasonable number of follow-up emails, which you can ask us to stop at any time
- Run, maintain and secure the site, and detect and prevent spam, fraud and abuse
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it, if we use analytics
- Measure and improve our own advertising, if we use advertising tools
- Comply with the law and protect our rights and the rights of others
We do not use your information to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not build profiles to infer sensitive characteristics about you.
Your choices and opt-outs
- Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings. The site still works, it just will not remember your theme or colour.
- Google Analytics. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (opens in a new tab).
- Google ads personalisation. You can manage the ads Google shows you in My Ad Center (opens in a new tab).
- Industry opt-outs. You can opt out of interest-based ads from many companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance (opens in a new tab) and the Network Advertising Initiative (opens in a new tab).
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control (opens in a new tab) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser.
- Emails from us. If we email you about your enquiry, you can ask us to stop at any time by replying or by emailing [email protected].
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the past 12 months. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know is under 16.
If we use advertising tools that California law may treat as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, you can opt out at any time. To do so, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honour automatically, or email your request to [email protected]. You do not need an account to opt out, and we will not ask you to verify your identity for an opt-out request.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), gives you the following rights:
- Right to know. Ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and who we disclosed it to, and ask for a copy.
- Right to delete. Ask us to delete the personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions the law allows.
- Right to correct. Ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. As described in the section above.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you, and we do not use it beyond what the law permits.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
What we collected in the last 12 months
| Category | Examples | Source | Disclosed to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, email address, IP address | You, your device | Service providers |
| Commercial information | Your website and the services you asked about | You | Service providers |
| Internet or network activity | Pages requested, referring page, browser and device details | Your device | Service providers and, if used, analytics and advertising partners |
| Geolocation data | Approximate location derived from IP address, never precise location | Your device | Service providers and, if used, analytics and advertising partners |
We collect these categories for the purposes listed in how we use information and keep them as described in data retention.
How to make a request
Email your request to [email protected], or write to us at the mailing address in contact us. To protect you, we will verify a request to know, delete or correct by matching the details you give us with the information we hold, usually by confirming the email address you used. You may use an authorised agent to make a request for you; we may ask for proof of the agent’s authority and ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.
We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, up to another 45 days, we will tell you why.
Shine the Light
California Civil Code section 1798.83 lets California residents ask whether a business has shared their personal information with third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing. We do not share personal information for that purpose.
CalOPPA and Do Not Track
The California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) requires us to explain what we collect, who we share it with, how you can review and request changes to your information, how we tell you about changes to this policy and how we respond to Do Not Track signals. This policy covers each of those points.
Do Not Track is an older browser setting with no agreed industry standard for how websites should respond, so the site does not change its behaviour when it receives a Do Not Track signal. We do honour Global Privacy Control, the newer signal recognised under California law, as explained in your choices.
Children
The site is meant for businesses and adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know is under 16.
If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please email us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:
- Form submissions are kept while we talk with you about your request and for up to 24 months after our last contact, so we have the history if you come back to us. If you become a client, your information is then handled under your client agreement.
- Technical logs kept by our hosting and security provider are retained for that provider’s standard periods, which are generally short.
- Analytics data, if we use analytics, is kept for no longer than the retention period set in the analytics tool, which we keep at 14 months or less.
- Preferences stored in your browser stay until you clear them.
We may keep information longer when the law requires it or to resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information. The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, access to enquiry data is limited to the people who need it to reply to you, and we use reputable providers that maintain their own security programmes.
No website, email or storage system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive information through the form or by email.
Visitors outside the United States
We are based in the United States, and the site and our service providers process information in the United States and possibly other countries. Data protection laws there may differ from the laws where you live.
If you contact us from outside the United States, we process your information to respond to the request you made, which is our legitimate interest and a step you asked us to take before any agreement. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or object to its use, by emailing [email protected].
Links to other websites
The site links to other websites and services, such as our Instagram profile and resources from Google. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not apply to them. Please read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site, the law or our practices change. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, such as using your information in a materially different way, we will also place a clear notice on the site before the change takes effect.
